Hello, Welcome to ISK

The International School of Kuwait is striving to become one of the leading international schools not just in the Gulf region, but across the globe

Our Vision

To be the premier school in the State of Kuwait and the Middle East region

The customized learning ecosystem will encompass deep-language learning, visual and performing arts, scientific and mathematical problem-based and project-based learning, well-being and mindfulness, which all use an innovative approach we call FUSION™!

We aim to create the quintessential renaissance student, who will be able to thrive in any context after graduation. All of this takes place on a state-of-art, contemporary and specially-designed campus.

Biography

Born on the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Lucia and growing up in the nearby US state of Florida, Dr. Hugette Nelson has traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, Mexico and Barbados. Martinique, Jamaica, and the Grand Bahamas were also among her destinations in and around the Caribbean. Living in Abu Dhabi from 2015-2019, Dr. Nelson enjoyed exploring farther afield with visits to Egypt, the Seychelles, Zanzibar, and Ghana.

Dr. Hugette is a motivated and passionate professional with over thirty-three years of experience in education. She received her MA in Early Childhood Education from Nova Southeastern University in Florida in 2002. Nominated "Teacher of the Year" in 2001, 2002 and 2011, she graduated with a Doctor of Science in Educational Leadership, also from Nova Southeastern University, in 2013. In Abu Dhabi, Dr. Hugette received a prestigious education award. Her teaching skills were featured at the ribbon cutting ceremony when the Higher Colleges of Technology's Abu Dhabi Women's College opened its Education Hub in 2016.

In Dr. Hugette's philosophy, it is imperative that a nation's most valuable resources, its children, be educated well for the good of the nation. She was inspired to become a teacher because of her love for both children and teaching. She owned and operated three pre- schools in Florida from October 1987 to 1999.

Dr. Hugette is happy to call the Gulf region home once again.
